How To Get More Soundcloud Followers

Want More SoundCloud Followers?

Here's Some Tips On How To Get Them!
  • PUT OUT GOOD CONTENT Always make sure you're putting out your best work! Also remember that when you upload your songs to SoundCloud, the newest tracks go to the top of your profile. So make sure to upload your best songs last so that they will appear at the top of your page!
  • USE YOUR TAGS Like Youtube, SoundCloud asks you to put tags on your songs when you upload them so that they can be found easier by users. A lot of people overlook this feature and in return never get found by possible fans. Also make sure you use your tags correctly, for example if it's an R&B song don't put a "Gangster Rap" tag unless that's what kind of song it is.
  • LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE'S TRACKS Just because you're a rapper doesn't mean your not a fan of other people music right. So try listening to other artist songs and give them an honest opinion through a comment. This will spark an interest in this person and make him want to know more about you, and he or she might even listen to a few of your tracks in return.
  • BE CONSISTENT Try to upload new songs as often as you can. Maybe set a day of the week that you upload new tracks. This will give your fans something new to look forward to every week.
  • SHARE YOU MUSIC WITH FRIENDS Post your SoundCloud link on your facebook page or your twitter account, your friends might not know that you have your music on SoundCloud yet!

10 Rapper Tips You Should Know

10 Rapper Tips

 You Should Know!!!

1. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Now I know you probably think this is something you would hear from some corny relative but practice really does make perfect! If you're not where you want to be with your skills keep going and never stop improving. Do you think Michael Jordan became one of the best basketball players of all time overnight? No, he was on the court day in and day out trying to improve his game. So keep moving foward and never give up!

2. BE REAL
If you're going to be rapper, rap about things that you've actually done. For example, if your broke don't rap about stacking money to the roof. Music comes from the heart, and people can sense when your being fake. Maybe rap about things your going through, there's been a bunch of artists that have used their songs as a sort of musical diary and had great success.

3. TAKE YOUR TIME
I know a lot of you guys pride yourselves on how many tracks you can drop in a night, or how fast you can drop your verse, but I personally think it would be a better idea to work on one song at a time and make sure it comes out as good as it can. Just remember Quality over Quantity. A wise man once said, "I'd rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.."

4. CONNECT WITH OTHER ARTISTS
It's really cool when you collaborate with other rappers for a bunch of reasons. 1 You can finish your song faster because you only need to write one verse each. 2 You can vibe off one another. 3 You can make new fans because the people that follow him might not know about you yet. I can go on and on..

5. DO NOT SPAM!
Spamming is "flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it" A lot of rappers spam the hell out of the internet without even knowing it. When you tag someone in your post on facebook everyday, or copy and paste the same message to hundreds of people over and over again saying "check out my mixtape" it gets kind of annoying and people aren't going to like you, or even worse, never listen to your music. Of course if it works then it works but if its not working then it would be a good idea to try something different. Think of it like this, you don't just hit up a pretty girl and demand that she be your girlfriend, that just comes off as obnoxious. Same with your music, you can't just hit up some random person thats never met you and demand they listen to your mixtape.

6. BLOW UP YOUR LOCAL SPOT
If you dont have a very big following, it would be a good idea to start with the people in your town. Do some local shows or hang up flyers all over town that says "Support A Local Artist" with a link to your site or music profile. Get creative, people love anything local!!

7. INVEST IN YOUR MUSIC
Probably the most important tip I could give you would be to invest in your music! This could mean anything from buying a good quality mic, making an ad, or buying beats that could give your music a better quality. You definitely want to invest in anything that could either make your music better or easier to make!

8. MAKE A DECENT SIZE MIXTAPE
Too many rappers these days are in such a huge rush to get their music out that they don't even fill up the CD for their fans! I know your eager to finish your project but 5 songs isn't a mixtape. Think about it, would you pay $20 for a CD if you knew their was only 5 songs on it? Try to at least put 15 to 18 tracks and give your fans something to actually listen to.

9. GIVE YOUR MUSIC AWAY FOR FREE
Now I know what your thinking, your probably sitting there saying why the f*ck would I give my music away for free right? No I'm not saying to give your music away for free forever, after all, for most of us the whole point of making music is to chase the dream of someday making millions of dollars off of our music. What I am saying is to give out at least 2 really good Albums for free because it will build you a fan base. There's been a bunch of times where I'm walking into the store and some random rapper comes out of nowhere and tries to sell me his CD and I never buy it because I'm not going to buy something from someone I've never heard. Give it a try, burn a bunch of CD's and write your website, or soundcloud URL on the CD's and hand them out to a bunch of people. This is a great way to get noticed and if people like your music you'll have a better chance of selling them your music in the future!

10. MAKE YOUR OWN WEBSITE
Soundcloud and Reverb Nation are really cool because they're free and easy to work with but you're always going to be in competition with other people using these sites. You figure there's probably millions of other musicians with free accounts, some of which might even have the same name as you, which might make it a little harder for you to get recognized. When you have your own site you have no competition, people are there to see you! Not only that but you can do a lot more with a website like put up music videos, sell t-shirts, create a mailing list to build fans, and a whole lot more!
